Our client, asked us to produce a printed splashback panel for their newly fitted bathroom. They had an alcove that had been fitted with lights and they wanted a piece of art work that would not only look good, but would not be damaged in a humid bathroom environment. The acrylic panel needed was required to be 1075mm x 1680mm in size.
Printed splashbacks the technical bit
We have produced other bespoke printed panels for other clients for a variety of projects. Each one is completely unique. All have something in common though, the artwork or graphics must be supplied in a pdf or jpg format. However, we normally find we have to make adjustments for images to be printed, so editable files like Adobe Illustrator files (eps or ai) are perfect. Vector based graphics are ideal. This is because vector formats are scalable and so allow us to produce the best possible finish for the size of your panel. The resolution for non-vectored images is paramount, and we ask our customers to provide us with the highest resolution they can with a minimum of 300 dpi.
Our printer prints CMKY with white ink for coloured substrates and a clear gloss top varnish if desired. Please be aware that all RGB files will be converted to CMKY format which has a reduced colour gamut. We will happily run a small test print to ensure our clients know exactly what they will end up with.
Finished artwork or graphics can be printed directly on to many different types of media. So this is a suitable option for a variety of projects.
Here is a clip of our printer at work but on this occasion it is printing a customers turquoise splashback. A fairly straightforward job, making sure the colour is correct is the biggest challenge.
